General Description

  • He is responsible for the reliability and integrity of turbo machines
  • He ensures that maintenance operations under his responsibility are carried out in strict accordance with COMPANY’s current safety rules and operating procedures and in accordance with standard industry practice, thereby guaranteeing the quality of maintenance operations, within his field

Main Function                                                    

  • Organises on site the maintenance operations which are related to turbo machines
  • Fill out PTW as applicant for activities executed by technicians when required
  • Control all work in their area of accountability through the implementation and compliance with the Permit to Work process so as to prevent any undue risks or unsafe acts
  • Supervise and develop turbine technicians
  • Coordinate, quality assurance and support all engineering disciplines in overhaul/repair plant equipment
  • Managing turbine tool stores and provide tools for field technicians
  • Follow use SAP to manage notifications, work orders, parts ordering, and job history recording
  • Participate in RCA investigations and carries out associated remedial actions as required
  • Conduct on the job training and mentoring of site academicians and staff in the safe and efficient maintenance of production assets
  • Conduct local national staff assessments when required
  • Maintain a flexible and positive attitude, especially with regard to the working environment and highly focussed safety procedures
  • Perform regular reporting of Turbine Mechanical activities
  • Identifies recurrent corrective maintenance interventions, analyses them and suggests improvements
  • Keeps a critical eye on current preventive maintenance programmes and, if need be, suggests improvements
  • Warns support teams of any recurring problems related to the availability or quality of spare parts
  • Suggests improvements and requests modifications
  • Monitors the functioning of turbo machines, by following important parameters of the packages

Qualifications Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing turbine teams preferably in oil/gas industry
  • Expertise in reading engineering drawings, interpreting tolerances and applying them in the execution of jobs
  • Proven hand-on experience in servicing/repairing Rotating Equipment (Turbo-compressors, Turbo-pumps, Turbo-generators, ...) with good track records in O&G facilities
  • Possess proven leadership and people management skills
  • Proven ability to work in multi –disciplinary teams and stay focussed on delivery of tasks within schedule and cost
