Maintenance Support Engineer

Key missions

Reporting the the Maintenance Team Leader, your key responsabilities are :

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations and analysis, mechanical, electrical and Instrumentation disciplines, improvement, and plant modification requested to be implemented

  • Provide technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions, using equipment data sheet and maintenance manuals.

  • Ensure that work requests include engineering input on repair details such as clearances, tolerances, materials of construction, procedures of execution, etc. and if necessary, provide onsite/offsite technical support for deviations from this data.

  • Provide PMR for any improvement or changes requested by operation, using company MOC procedures and follow until implementation and PMR closure forms in connection with DC.

  • Ensure repairs, repair techniques, equipment specific training, are documented and made available.

  • Provide maintainability input to all related maintenance activities.

  • Review spare parts list for existing equipment and provide to Material Discipline Analyst stock parameters change.

  • Develop maintenance philosophy and strategies for all production assets, operating mechanical, electrical, instrumentation disciplines.

  • As required, provide engineering input to work packages to ensure standards are followed.

  • During development of turnaround work provide input on development of work orders particularly on critical equipment requiring engineering review or input.

  • Provide equipment reliability and performance data to the technical resource networks for input into equipment purchasing requirements, evaluation of equipment performance, vendor performance, and modifications.

  • The Maintenance Engineer will check that all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment Process Implementation Analysis.

  • Make technical recommendations to Maintenance staff and MOG Production staff, thus ensuring asset technical integrity.

  • Arrange and supervise audits of maintenance activities

  • Develop and ensure application of sound maintenance standards and practices.

  • Develop maintenance guidelines and procedures.

  • Seek, plan, develop and pursue appropriate technology options for cost-effective provision of maintenance management systems.

  • Ensure that technical standards and procedures are established and provided for all facility equipment.

  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for key areas and agree their use with the responsible sections.

  • Monitor performance against KPI’s, prepare and publish reports to all relevant sections.

  • Take initiative to selectively carry out Failure Mode and Effect analysis (FMECA) and identify opportunities to reduce maintenance interventions.

  • Build and maintain an equipment performance data base that will be used for trend analysis and improvement decision taking.

  • Provide input into Maintenance staff development plans.

  • To be fully familiar with the use of CMMMS (MAXIMO)



Candidate profile

  • At least with 10 years’ experience in oil & gas field, onshore, offshore.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skill, in Englis

    • Safety Training

    • T-BOSIET certificate OPITO or STCW

    • OPITO Basic Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Training

    • Familiar with software as:  Plant design : PDMS 11.6;

    • Piping Stress Analysis: CAESAR II

    • Knowledge to use standards NSPs, NSWPs, ASME Code, API

    • Competent in the use of MS Office applications; Microsoft Project, Primavera; AutoCAD; MAXIMO7.6
