Key missions


Under the responsibility of the Project Manager, the Instrumentation Trainer is responsible for trainee supervision, including needs analysis, training determination, trainee assessment, and competency evaluation.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities


  • Coordinates the training process for personnel in the Instrumentation section to ensure a highly skilled maintenance team on site.
  • Designs, develops, delivers, and revises technical and safety training modules and courses, encompassing both theoretical and practical training. Manages course materials (printing, distribution, etc.).
  • Guides trainees in fault diagnosis and instructs them on appropriate repair and maintenance methods.
  • Conducts training needs analysis for individuals and groups, identifying skill gaps and making recommendations to address these needs.
  • Assesses trainee competency requirements and certifies personnel according to competency levels.
  • Conducts competency assessments and verification, monitors progress, and maintains accurate records of trainee progress, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with external training providers and service partners.
  • Assists in the development of standard operating procedures, policies, and practices for training and development.
  • Participates in Health, Safety, and Environment programs to achieve company standards and objectives.

Candidate profile


  • Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in the Oil & Gas industry, with offshore experience, and 3 years of experience as a Trainer with a focus on On-the-Job Training (OJT).
  • Proficient in workplace learning and competency-based training and assessment (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in related computer software and able to operate business equipment such as a laptop, LCD, overhead projector, and other training aids.
  • Languages: Fluent in Portuguese; Advanced in English.
