The Senior Electrical Technician is responsible for executing electrical maintenance and technical support activities within their specialized field. This role ensures that all electrical work is carried out in full compliance with safety regulations, operational standards, and industry best practices. With a strong focus on quality, safety, and system reliability, the technician contributes to the optimal performance of electrical systems and equipment, maintaining high standards of execution and operational integrity.
Reporting Line:
Reports to the Electrical Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
✓ Perform on site the Maintenance operations during normal shift and Emergency which are placed under its team responsibility
✓ With Electrical Maintenance team assists specialists working under Specific Maintenance Contracts
✓ Ensure that HSE regulations are respected (especially procedures related to Work Permits), as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during performance of maintenance operations placed under its responsibility,
✓ Ensures that all Maintenance and repairs to plant and equipment are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and in strict compliance with operating procedures and any relevant statutory legislation in order to maintain all such equipment in sound and safe operating condition.
✓ Lead the execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance on all CPF / Wells Electrical systems and equipment as per maintenance procedures and troubleshooting of the problems to ensure the integrity of the equipment for supporting production and processing facilities.
✓ Execute the maintenance activities (preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance) in cohesive, efficient & safe manner to ensure maximum plant uptime and to support sustainable production
✓ Lead the execution of maintenance and repair works and inspection activities including disassembly and reassembly of CPF / Wells Electrical systems and equipment inclusive of, without being limited to, switchgears, transformers, synchronizing system, batteries, circuit breakers, relays, fuses, bus-bars, voltage regulators, DC/AC Excitation Systems and auxiliaries.
✓ Act as Electrical Isolating Authority within its authorization limits in line with the PTW Procedure
✓ Monitor the functioning of systems placed under its responsibility,
✓ Ensure that the transfer of knowledge by mentoring occurs properly within its teams, and actively participates in this activity
✓ Participate actively and with positive interactions to the Nationalization process for both Senior Ugandan Technician and Ugandan Technician
✓ Coordinate with Trainers for Competencies gap analysis and appropriate Training response
✓ Take in charge the systems under its responsibility in case of breakdown until correct operation status
The holder of this position must have the following qualifications:
✓ Electrical Maintenance Technical Diploma or Certificate or equivalent education.
✓ 5-8 years’ experience in the maintenance field on oil and gas production installations,
✓ A good knowledge of the process of oil and gas treatment, installations and a thorough knowledge of the equipment used in oil and gas treatment installations
✓ Specific professional knowledge: CMMS experience and know-how
✓ Ability to lead and motivate multi-national teams,
✓ Pride in its work, ability to maintain good relations with colleagues and others,
✓ Physical ability to work on offshore installations in the climatic conditions of the site,
✓ Working language: English
