As a Chief Accountant based in Monaco, you will manage a team of two accountants working on the monitoring of projects in Africa. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for both general and analytical accounting within your scope, in line with the Group’s reporting guidelines.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Act as the main point of contact between subsidiary accounting teams and the Group Finance department at headquarters.
Supervise and organize the tasks of the accounting team under your responsibility in Monaco (2 people).
Support local teams in structuring their accounting departments and resolving accounting issues.
Review the accuracy and consistency of accounting data and make adjustments when necessary.
Validate monthly and quarterly reconciliations (bank, cash, payroll, taxes, fixed assets, etc.).
Ensure proper follow-up and accounting of intercompany flows for Group entities operating within the Gabon scope.
Conduct balance sheet reviews.
Prepare statutory accounts for subsidiary entities.
Review audit files and liaise directly with auditors.
Ensure timely submission of tax filings (VAT, corporate tax advances, annual tax packages, etc.).
Monitor changes in tax obligations in coordination with local tax advisors.
Review and analyze revenues and costs allocated to each project.
Ensure analytical monitoring of certain projects and provide explanations of variances between forecasts (budget/forecast) and actual accounting.
Report discrepancies, anomalies, and issues to the Financial Controller.
Prepare and post quarterly IFRS adjustments.
Prepare monthly financial reporting for Group consolidation (IFRS) within deadlines.
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
Travel to subsidiaries to train staff on Group procedures, verify compliance, and improve accounting processes.
Collaborate with the Financial Controller on the implementation or development of accounting tools in line with Group policies.
Ideally, a minimum of 3 years in an audit firm in a managerial role, or 3 years as Chief Accountant within an international group.
Solid knowledge of IFRS and excellent command of Excel.
Strong analytical and synthesis skills, critical thinking, and ability to make recommendations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to work in multicultural environments and manage teams.
Professional proficiency in English is required.
Strong ability to meet deadlines.
