Key missions
As an Instrumentation Preparator, you will be responsible for preparing, assessing, and documenting all activities related to the replacement and upgrade of instrumentation and fire & gas (F&G) devices on the offshore site. You will perform detailed surveys, propose technical solutions, prepare sketches and mark-ups, and provide comprehensive reports to ensure smooth execution of construction and maintenance works in line with client requirements and company standards.
- Conduct site surveys to assess existing instrumentation and F&G devices to be replaced or upgraded.
- Take photographs and prepare detailed documentation to clearly define the nature and scope of the work.
- Identify and propose related cables, racks, and equipment required for the new installations.
- Draft sketches of instrument stands and equipment supports.
- Review and mark up P&IDs, ensuring modifications are properly documented.
- Update loop diagrams to reflect any approved changes.
- Provide expert recommendations and propose technical solutions to the client.
- Supply a comprehensive survey report including photos, sketches, mark-ups, and recommendations.
- Liaise with offshore operations and construction teams to ensure feasibility of proposed works.
- Ensure all preparatory works comply with QHSSE standards and offshore operational constraints.
Candidate profile
- Degree or diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in instrumentation works in Oil & Gas projects, preferably offshore.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems and fire & gas devices.
- Proven experience in preparing sketches, mark-ups, and technical reports.
- Proficiency with P&IDs, loop diagrams, and relevant drafting tools.
- Good IT skills for survey report preparation and documentation.
- Strong understanding of offshore environment and construction activities.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Portuguese or French is an advantage.
