Key missions
The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the
maintenance and performance of critical mechanical equipment, with a primary
focus on turbomachinery such as gas turbines and compressors. This role
involves ensuring efficient operations, consistent implementation of maintenance
procedures, and effective collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and
equipment manufacturers. The Mechanical Supervisor will report directly to the
Maintenance Manager and play a crucial role in maintaining platform reliability
and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Turbomachinery
Oversight:
- Contribute
to reporting to the Maintenance Manager on turbomachinery performance,
critical activities, and work program progress related to upgrades and
overhauls.
- Provide
technical support for the maintenance and performance evaluation of main
turbomachinery equipment on platforms, including gas turbines, gas
compressors, and associated auxiliaries.
- Operational
& Procedural Management:
- Ensure
the consistent implementation of procedures for the operation, training,
and maintenance of platform turbomachinery.
- Collaborate
with operations teams to optimize maintenance strategies for
turbomachinery and other critical mechanical assets.
- Supplier
& Manufacturer Interface:
- Serve
as the main interface with equipment manufacturers for troubleshooting,
upgrades, and support.
- Conduct
quality assurance on equipment overhauls by visiting supplier workshops,
witnessing performance tests, and ensuring compliance with standards.
- Procurement
Support:
- Provide
technical support to procurement teams by reviewing quotes,
specifications, and supplier proposals.
- Draft
detailed technical descriptions for the procurement of services,
materials, and equipment related to maintenance activities.
- Contractor
& Supplier Management:
- Develop
and maintain constructive relationships with contractors and suppliers.
- Identify
opportunities to enhance contractor/supplier performance, reduce costs,
and improve service quality.
- Project
& Modification Management:
- Prepare
scopes of work for minor modifications and ensure proper engineering,
documentation, and reporting.
- Oversee
maintenance and modification projects to ensure compliance with
standards, regulations, budgets, and schedules.
- Maintenance
Strategy Development:
- Analyze
and define the most effective maintenance strategies for turbomachinery
and other mechanical equipment to maximize uptime and performance.
- Health,
Safety, and Environment (HSE):
- Ensure
all maintenance activities adhere to HSE standards and company
regulations.
- Actively
participate in safety audits and promote a culture of safety within the
team.
Candidate profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical
engineering or equivalent technical certification.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in
mechanical maintenance within the oil & gas industry, with a strong
emphasis on turbomachinery (gas turbines and compressors).
Proficiency
in performance evaluation and maintenance of turbomachinery.
Strong
understanding of HSE standards and industry regulations.
Ability
to prepare technical documentation and scopes of work.
Excellent
problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Strong
interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with
diverse teams and stakeholders.
Working
languages: English and Portuguese.
Willingness
to travel for supplier inspections, workshops, and fieldwork as required.
Ability
to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
