For a new Agricultural project in
Angola with ENI we are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join
our team as a Junior Agronomist. As a Junior Agronomist, you will work
alongside experienced agronomists and assist in conducting research, providing
technical support, and implementing agricultural practices to optimize crop
production. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining
hands-on experience in the field of agronomy and developing their skills in
crop management.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct field inspections and collect data on soil conditions, crop health, and pest/disease presence.
- Assist in designing and implementing field trials to evaluate agronomic practices and crop varieties.
- Analyze and interpret data collected to make recommendations for improving crop production and reducing environmental impact.
- Collaborate with senior agronomists to develop and implement integrated pest management strategies.
- Provide technical support to farmers and answer their questions regarding crop management, fertilization, irrigation, and pest control.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in agronomy and share knowledge with the team.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, farmers, and agricultural suppliers, to develop innovative solutions for crop productivity.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
Candidate profile
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience in agriculture or agronomy is preferred, but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in data collection and analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with agricultural technology and software is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to field sites and work in various weather conditions.
- Physical ability to perform fieldwork, including lifting and carrying equipment.
