Key missions

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Team Leader / Maintenance Expert specialized in Mechanical Rotating Equipment to support ongoing operations for a major FPSO project in Nigeria.

The role is primarily onshore-based, with occasional spot missions offshore to the FPSO site.


The selected candidate will play a key role in the technical coordination, planning, and execution of maintenance activities to ensure asset reliability and performance.


  • Lead and coordinate all mechanical maintenance activities for rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, etc.) supporting the FPSO operations.

  • Serve as the primary interface between the onshore support team and offshore operations team.

  • Plan and follow up on preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.

  • Participate in the root cause analysis (RCA) of mechanical failures and propose sustainable solutions.

  • Support offshore teams during spot missions: provide expertise, supervision, troubleshooting, and audits.

  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company maintenance procedures.

  • Liaise with vendors and OEMs for technical support, inspections, and spare parts management.

  • Provide technical input for maintenance strategies, upgrades, and modifications.

  • Mentor and support the development of national staff and junior technicians.


Candidate profile

  • Engineering degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in oil & gas maintenance, with a strong focus on rotating equipment.

  • Previous experience on FPSO operations is highly preferred.

  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.

  • Familiar with CMMS systems (MAXIMO).

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

  • Valid offshore certifications (BOSIET, HUET) – or willingness to obtain if needed.

  • Ability to work in multicultural environments and under challenging field conditions.
